Shalom uvrakha, I hope your school year went well, and I wish you a terrific summer. Here are a few items for your attention.
1. CAMPUS FELLOWS PROGRAM: The Institute for Jewish Ideas and Ideals sponsors a Campus Fellows Program, and it was active on 21 campuses this past year. Campus Fellows receive a modest stipend and expense money, and are obligated to arrange two programs per semester relating to Judaism/Modern Orthodoxy/Israel etc. These programs can involve guest speakers (the Institute provides honoraria for guest speakers), as well as small gatherings of students to discuss topics of mutual interest. If you would like to be a Campus Fellow, please contact [email protected]; you can learn more about the program and find an application on our homepage at jewishideas.org (scroll down, bottom right). Although the deadline for applications has passed, we are still taking applications...so please apply asap if you are interested.
2. MAILING ADDRESSES: Members of the University Network receive copies of our journal, Conversations, as well as other periodic publications. Please make sure we have your correct mailing address. Since students often change addresses during the summer/start of new school year, it's important that you let us know your correct address. You can update your mailing information at jewishideas.org; or you can mail the updated information to [email protected]
3. Please visit our youtube channel: youtube.com/jewishideasorg for short programs on topics of interest. If you have questions you'd like answered on a youtube program, please send them to [email protected]
4. The Institute serves as a resource center for members of the University Network. If you have questions relating to halakha, hashkafa, ethics, personal issues etc., please feel free to contact Rabbi Marc Angel at [email protected] Many students have taken advantage of this free service, so please feel free to participate if you wish.
